How to explain the life of a gamer? A gamer is someone who plays a game which involves the imagination, theatrics, and the ability to think on ones feet. It is usually a male dominated area. In fact I have only known 7 female gamers in my lifetime.
When I mention gaming to non-gamers, I get this weird look, kind of like I've just grown another eye on my forehead, but the person is tooo polite to mention it.
I'm lucky in that, of the 7 female gamers I have known, I married the best of the bunch, and still get to play regularly with 4 or 5 of them. They often bring a different attitude to gaming, not being so goal oriented.
The point of this ramble is to explain one aspect of my wife that I adore absolutely.
Today she beat me at a game of "Mage Knight." This game uses minatures which have special abilities, and the games tend to last about an hour. She beat me by reanimating her dead folks again and again. She really enjoyed wupping on me, and to tell the truth, so did I.

2011 Note- Crissy also whooped up on the men of flagstaff when she became the regional champion at War Cry. Played against only men, as only men were playing and won regional's. But she regularly loses at chess.
